VIETNAM EXPLORER TRAVEL was born in 2007 as a result of a conversation between a Vietnamese travel consultant, Phuong Lai, and an Australian business man, Robert Harris. During their discussion it became obvious they both shared a passion for travel and a love of South East Asia, in particular Indo China. They also both had the same dream, to start a travel service company to provide the opportunity for others to experience the magical beauty and cultural richness of this part of the world.

Phuong Lai graduated from Hanoi university with a degree in International Commerce and Tourism. Following her graduation she immediately entered the hospitality industry working at a 4 star resort & hotel in Sapa, followed by a period with a 5 star hotel in Hanoi. Phuong then joined one of the largest Travel Agency companies in Asia and worked as a Senior Consultant for the past six years. During this time she completed a Masters degree in Cultural Project for Development Studies in Italy.

Robert Harris is an Australian business man who has been a professional traveler for some 20 years and has always maintained a keen interest in all matters relating to business and leisure travel.

With strong support from Phuong's family, and Mr. Robert Harris, Phuong made the decision to start the company that is now VIETNAM EXPLORER TRAVEL. Phuong's wealth of experience in the "professional" and "quality" travel and tour business has enabled her to establish and position the business to cater for both foreigners visiting Indo China and for Ex Pats located in the area who are seeking to further explore the region.
Phuong has hand picked her staff, who are all graduates in Tourism and Hospitality, to bring the variety of their skills to the operation that are required to provide a completer range of travel and tourism services.
